Well, so far out of the handful of new episodes I’ve seen all of them have drawn me in at some level.
Chuunibyou demo Koi ga Shitai! made the cut with the ONA I viewed. This anime seems very watchable and I can kind of relate to the main character not wanting to relive their embarassing middle school life. We’ve all gone through that phase at some point. I know I did but it wasn’t nearly as drastic as our leads in this show. The animation, in my opinion is pretty good.
Kamisama Hajimemashita had me iffy on watching it within the first couple of minutes but after the introduction of the protagonist, it was decent. Had a couple moments that made me laugh. I don’t know why but anime that has dog/fox/wolf god or demon type guys with white hair reminds me of Inuyasha. For a romcom anime I’m hoping for a fairly decent story.
Busou Shinki was one I really wasn’t sure of based off the description I read. I just saw the first episode with my 3 year old daughter and it was good. It drew my daughters attention which may keep me watching it the whole way through. It’s a robotics based show, seems to be a handful of those this season, with 15cm tall female robots made to serve and fight for their masters. I’ve seen a lot of people comment that the girls are all lolis and they’re way wrong on that end for two of them. I’ll keep watching this one and see how it goes.
Zetsuen no Tempest now here’s one of my favorite anime categories, magic. It’s got a dash of friendship, vengeance, love, and a cult group trying to awaken some big bad and they happen to be destroying the world in the process. The guys appear to be the leads in this one. The first episode you gotta pay attention because it goes between flashbacks and real time almost seamlessly. Had me confused for a couple of minutes but after that it was smooth sailing. The two girls that will become part of the main team, well one’s the most powerful mage ever to be born and the other, for now, is the love interest of our brown haired male lead.
K Anime, now this one I was skeptical on but dammn, the animation is amazing! The white haired guy is our protagonist in the show. The girl above is his cat, she only makes a brief human appearance in the first episode. Other than that she’s a super cute white kitty that lays over his shoulder. There’s a mixture of all types of characters in here. Ofcourse there’s a shorty loli complete with Victorian style garb. Shounen-ai elements are in this but they don’t detract from the show itself. Never seena yaoi anime nor a shounen-ai one myself but hey, if the anime is as good as it appears with those elements in it I’ll keep watching.
Little Busters-Just saw the premier episode of that the other night and I really like it. I’m in the middle of watching Angel Beats and loving the animation style and the bit of music there is to it. They’re done by the same company. There’s laughable moments, I adore the younger sister. This is definitely staying on my watch list.
Ixion Saga DT- Ok, I’ll admit the title caught my attention right off the bat because it’s the name of a summon beast from the FF series, I miss playing those games. Then I read the summary and decided to check it out. Opening scene with that badass looking dragon, even though it’s a game within the anime, was sweet! It’s very watchable imo and seems to have the makings of a decent plot.
Sukitte Iinayo- Appears to be a romance anime. Haven’t read the manga but the animation looks good and it’s cute. The female lead isn’t a cutesy bubbly girl with a dark past nor is she the hime cut, cool demeanor with a hard life. She’s an average girl who decides that having friends only means they betray you from an early in life experience with that. Who can blame her? Anyway, cute to watch if you want to see some highschool romance and friendship building.
The last for now is Code: Breaker. This one has a good start to it. Nice sci-fi type anime (no, no robots or aliens, at least i think no aliens). Just magic type abilities and a guy that has a major personality flip. Our female protagonist pretty much stalks the new transfer student in her school because she thinks she sees him burning people alive with blue flames the previous night. At the end of the first episode my thoughts were “That poor dog deserved better.” Not talking about the guy, Omagi, either.
Final update for this season, I hope:
Jormungand: Perfect Order-been waiting for this one to air. Loved the first season and the second one starts out just as awesome! New OP sounds pretty good and so does the ED. Looking forward to some more Koko Loco!
Aikatsu- First episode is cute, although the computer animation on the girls kind of makes them look weird. I’ll give it a few more episodes and see how it goes.
Sakurasou no Pet na Kanojo-This one turned out not to be annoying like I expected. Rather it’s cute, not a harem, the male lead is a sweet guy who has taken in about 7 cats because he cant just leave them abandoned. He’s also not after the girls. The female lead in this one is cute as well but cannot take care of herself whatsoever. The poor guy, I say poor because he’s pretty embarassed by it, has to pick out her clothing, including her underwear! Also the same voice actor that does Kirito in SAO does his voice.
Girls and Panzer-Not what I expected when I saw the episode but I’m going to keep watching it. Seems like there’s a bit of a dramatic story behind our protagonist in this one, hopefully it gets revealed in time. It looks cute and there are highschool girls driving massive tanks!
Keep looking for more anime as they premier and I tell my decisions on them!
